Here are the FUCK-TARDS that have so deeply and quickly helped further stereotypes against the great Commonwealth of Kentucky, making this state and its premeire university look like nothing more than melting pot for hatred, bigotry, and ignorance.

----------CNN) -- Two men have been arrested in connection with an effigy of Sen. Barack Obama that was hung outside a building at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, police said Thursday.

Joe Fischer, left, and Hunter Bush were arrested on disorderly conduct and other charges, police said.

Authorities found a life-size effigy of the Democratic presidential candidate hanging from a tree outside the school's Mines and Minerals building on Wednesday morning, police said.
Police said they arrested Joe Fischer, 22, a senior at the university, and Hunter Bush, 21, a former student at Bluegrass Community and Technical College. "This was a serious incident. It caused a lot of wounds to be opened from racial tension," Monroe said.

After following leads and conducting interviews, investigators determined that Fischer and Bush had asked members of a University of Kentucky fraternity for items to make the effigy but did not tell the fraternity members why they wanted them, Monroe said.
Fischer and Bush were arrested on charges of disorderly conduct, burglary and theft by unlawful taking, police said. The burglary and theft charges involve allegedly removing items from a room in the fraternity house.

"We had a pre-established dialogue with this fraternity, and they spoke to us very openly and freely," Monroe said. --------------

Update on UK Effigy Incident...

This is another campus wide letter and release from the University of Kentucky's president Dr. Lee Todd. Props to the UK police:

"New developments have occurred in the unfortunate effigy incident on the UK campus Wednesday. Two men have been arrested in the case, one has been identified as a UK student and the other is not affiliated with the university. I want to commend our UK Police Department for its professional and expedient action in this case. The criminal case is now in the hands of the Fayette County Attorney and the Fayette Court system and any further details related to the case will be release through the County Attorney's Office.

In addition to the criminal charges, the UK student is subject to disciplinary action as defined in the UK Student Code and Governing Regulations of the University.

The university has a code of student conduct that establishes behavioral expectations for students. An initial determination of responsibility for a violation of the code and an appropriate sanction is made by the Dean of Students Office. In this process, all students' records including any disciplinary records are confidential in accordance with university regulations, and state and federal law. So this is not a process in which we will be able to share any additional information.

As outrageous and offensive an act as the effigy was, I truly believe it has mobilized our campus, the community and the state in an effort to battle racism and hate and seek the better angels of our nature. Clearly, we have much work to do in educating each other about tolerance and mutual respect.

I have been extremely moved by the outpouring of concern generated by this incident. I want to thank the many students, alumni, faculty, staff and concerned citizens who have contacted us since the incident. I also want to thank the nearly 700 participants in Wednesday night's campus forum. This truly gave our campus and our city leaders an opportunity to share their feelings and to unify our efforts to encourage diversity and respect for each other.

We cannot forget yesterday's unseemly incident. Rather, we must use that event to help us build a more welcoming University and a stronger and more inclusive community."

I have been wanting to do this for years, as I am an avid comic book geek, and it's finally going to happen. The participants are as follows:

The UK Interfaith Dialog Organization and the Martin Luther King, Jr. Cultural Center will jointly sponsor a Campus Forum tonight at 7:00 p.m. in Memorial Hall to address issues and concerns that have arisen because of the effigy incident this morning. Student, community and university leaders will be on hand to underscore UK's core values of diversity and inclusion, and to reiterate the community's commitment to civil discourse and mutual respect under all circumstances, and in the face of political disagreement in particular. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.

Program participants will include Mehmet Saracoglu, President UK Interfaith Dialog Organization; Mayor Jim Newberry; President Lee Todd; Tyler Montell, President, UK Student Government; Reverend Peoples from Historic Pleasant Green Missionary Baptist Church and others.

Lee Todd's Response to Obama Hate Message

A dummy based on the likeness of Barack Obama was found with a noose around its neck at the University of Kentucky, the college I previously attended and currently work at.

This is the letter sent out campus wide and the statement released by the University of Kentucky president, Dr. Lee Todd. I am not posting this to be malicious. I really appreciate what Todd says in the letter and am glad that a response got out in regards to the incident so quickly.

"Unfortunately, this morning an effigy of Senator Barack Obama was discovered hanging in a tree on campus. I am personally offended and deeply embarrassed by this disgusting episode. This is not reasonable political expression; it is just malicious. And it is unacceptable.

On behalf of the University of Kentucky I apologize to Senator Obama and his family. I will personally assure them that this is not who we are as a University or as a state.

As President of the University of Kentucky, I feel outraged and hurt. I am outraged because we work very hard, every day, to build bridges across the divides. Diversity and inclusion are among our most precious core values. Episodes like this serve only to erode our confidence in and respect for one another.

Regardless of your political opinions or the candidates you support, a University such as ours must be a place where spirited discussion can take place, but within the bounds of civility, common sense, and respect for the views and feelings of others. We have insisted - and we will continue to insist - that we as a University and as a state rise above hatred and acts of malice or ignorance. The line separating civil discourse from unacceptable behavior has been crossed, constituting a clear violation of the University's code of ethics, and possibly constituting criminal acts, which would also violate University regulations. Such acts will not be tolerated. Those found responsible will be subject to the full force of university, state, and federal rules and regulations.

Does the Name 'Hasselbeck' Make You Sick Too?

You want to know who the most idiotic, uninformed, right-wing nut in this world is? It's not O'Reilly. It's not Rush. I am pretty damn sure it's Elizabeth Hasselbeck. Why oh why the McCain/Palin camp insist on letting Hasselbeck present special speeches on behalf of the campaign is beyond me. Recently, Hasselbeck was allowed to speak at a McCain/Palin ralley. Within the speech was nothing informative, was nothing supportive, but was just jumbled words she managed to put together in support of her party. I have a feeling that Hasselbeck wouldn't care who the candidates are. As long as they are Republican, she'd vote for them. Which means, if Lucifer himself ran for president on the Republican ticket, she would vote for him. Her political ideals are simple and stem more from her religion than anything that should revolve around politics.

To break it down, Hasselbeck was a cast member on Survivor. That's it. Plain and simple. Has accomplished nothing else in her life except being the hot chick that everyone hates on The View. She has no political experience. She has no journalistic experience. Why in the world am I supposed to listen to Elizabeth Hasselbeck talk about Sarah Palin's accessories. The old flag pin argument Liz? Really? Jeez...the McCain campaign must be getting desperate.

She is a fox though. I will give her that. If someone would just shred her vocal cords in a blender. Man. That would be sweet.

"Halloween is Evil!"

Part of my usual morning routine is to visit vast news sites around the internet to get caught up with the world. I like to be informed. I recently discovered an article posted on Fark.com, a popular comedic news web site that makes fun of REAL news, which was from CBN.com. For those of you who are not familiar with CBN, it stands for the Christian Broadcasting Network. On their web site is an article written by Pastor Eric Watt and the 'evils' and 'dangers' of Halloween. Listed below is my favorite quote from the article. Keep in mind the title of the article is Should Christians Celebrate Halloween?.

" Just before reaching a conclusion on the subject, I was struck with the thought that I ought to further my search and find out what Wicca, the official religion of witchcraft, has to say about Halloween. Perhaps they viewed the day as a simple fun and innocent neighborhood activity?

'Shock' is the only word to describe what I found. Halloween is a real, sacred day for those who follow Wicca. In fact, it is one of two high and holy days for them. The Celtic belief of spirits being released is current, along with the worship of Samhain (the lord of death) – both are promoted as something to embrace on that day. There is no question in my mind that to those who believe and follow the practices of witchcraft, Halloween represents an opportunity to embrace the evil, devilish, dark side of the spiritual world."

What a dumb person. I would come up with a better insult, but I think dumb pretty much describes it. For anyone familiar with Wicca, an actual religion, they know that the religion is not about worshipping the devil or evil spirits. It's not about drinking blood or having orgies all night long. They don't stab Bibles. Hell, they don't even really call out the Lord's name in vain because they don't even believe in it. Wicca is a religion based from the earth. They worship the earth, the elements, and the natural state of things in this world. They believe that spiritual things happen in the physical world, not because of Satan or God, but because of the beauty of nature, etc. Wicca is not witchcraft in the sense that Pastor Watt here says it is, that is to say, with broomsticks and couldrons and everything else evil. Pastor Watt doesn't know a thing about it. Hell, he probably just researched on some religious site and got all his answers there.

Pastor Watt is ignorant. Ignorance is the only true evil in this world, not witchcraft, not Wicca. People like Pastor Watt are ignorant. If you think Wicca is evil, YOU are ignorant, and as far as I'm concerned, can be burned at the stake, because you are more evil than any witch I have ever met.

Oh, and uh, Pastor Watt, one more thing: if you want Halloween devoted to Christian Saints, well, that's just, uh, boring as hell. It's alot more fun to dress up as sadist and drag your gimp around with you.

Dated...But Still Funny...

Twilight...

No matter where you seem to turn, Stephanie Myer's Twilight seems to be everywhere. The book has been getting converage in almost every facit of media including newspapers, magazines, television, and will soon be spreading into theatres. The film Twilight, aptly named and based on the book, will be released on November 21, 2008. I recently finished reading the book, ignoring all my adult senses in doing so. I knew the book was for adult teens, possibly even for tweens, and I knew that it doesn't take much to write a vampire love story, since there are almost 20,000 of those types of stories written already. What can I say? I guess I am just a slave to trends...

In reality, I do have this interest in vampire lore. I also love zombies, but that's another story. So the idea of a vampire book getting so much attention (not done so since Anne Rice in the 90's) kind of excited me so I felt as if I had to read the book to see what all the excitement was all about.

Well, as it turns out...it was all for nothing. Twilight was about the biggest waste of time anyone could perform. The plot is simple, the characters are easy, and the way Mrs. Myer seems to just come up with subtle "deus ex machinas" is really just sad. Most of the book reads as follows (do not read if you don't want it spoiled):

"How come you can come out in the day?"

"Oh well, the whole afraid of daylight is a myth."

"Oh."

"Yeah."

"Uh, want to make out?"

Stephanie Meyer completely ignores any traditional vampire lore. My thought on that is...if the creature can walk in daylight, can't fly, or can live without feeding on humans...it's not a vampire. She could have called the damn kid and his family something else like...Stephanie Meyer's Magick Creatures from the Third Dimension...because they aren't fucking vampires...at least not to me. Oh, and uh, did I mention, Edward Cullen is a wuss, and his family is too.

For those girls out there who feel for Ms. Meyer's money trap and actually seemed to enjoy the book, I can see why. You have this love that seems like it should be unrequited, but the characters constantly struggle and fight to be with each other. Anyone should be able to identify with that, sure. I mean, even I was a sucker for two-thirds of the book. But by the ending, well, there really isn't an ending. Bella is about to be killed. Then she faints. Then she wakes up and it turns out Edward go there just in time. Thank God! Then they go to prom. And then they talk...and then...well, that's about it.

I hear there are werewolves in the second book of the series!

In case you're wondering, that was sarcasm. I won't be going anywhere near Stephanie Meyer ever again. And I recommend you don't either.

Now True Blood, the new show on HBO? That's some vampire shit that rocks my socks...

The Way of the Fist

My favorite type of music is metal. It doesn't really matter what particular kind. Lord knows there's plenty: nu-metal, power metal, speed metal, thrash metal, death metal, black metal, even Nintendo metal.

I have recently been listening to a band that I discovered from listening to and researching SLIPKNOT and DISTURBED, two of my favorite bands. FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH is a band formed in 2005 by Zoltan Bathoroy, who was a member of the band U.P.O. This year they toured with SLIPKNOT and DISTURBED during the Mayhem Festival.

They are without a doubt hardcore and badass; their music that is, I don't know them personally. Their album THE WAY OF THE FIST is really fast and loud, and the chaos never seems to stop. The only time things start to slow down is during "The Bleeding," but for a supposed love song, its still pretty kick-ass. The first song on the album, "Ashes," set the stage for all the tracks by starting off with the members screaming at the top of their lungs, and then saying to "bring it," followed by the awesome song. If you have the money, or what I prefer, the ability to download/bootleg music illegally from sites like isohunt.com, check it out.

The only downside to The Way of the Fist is that it is fairly short, with most of the songs staying near or even below three and a half minutes, and with only ten tracks. Still, it is a great listen if you are into this kind of rock.

That One...

People are up in arms because of a quote John McCain made during the 2nd Presidential Debate. The candidates were on the topic of energy, and when referring to an energy bill, McCain said..."You know who voted for it? You might never know. That one. You know who voted against it? Me."

Now, many different floating heads, newspapers, and magazines have inferred as to what John McCain meant when he said that. Most have accused him of it being a subtle racial slight against Barack Obama, relating the word "that" as meaning "those people," which is a pretty notable verbal offense against African-Americans.

Now, keep in mind that I am all for Barack Obama and will definitely be voting for him during the election. Also keep in mind that I am disappointed by the Republican Party, which means I dislike John McCain, and most importantly, that I hate George W. Bush (I will be seeing Oliver Stone's W.). I believe John McCain and everyone involved in his ticket are liars, haters, and scheming villains who most be stopped at any cost.

However, I do NOT believe that John McCain meant anything negative, especially racially, toward Barack Obama with that statement. As a Kentuckian, I am used to referring to people, jokingly, when telling stories and ending them with "and you know who it was? Yep. That one." I hear it time and time again and never think anything of it. If I was ever to agree that the media may have a liberal bias, it is on this subject. John McCain is not a racist. He may be an ignorant, apathetic, out of touch old coot who should stay away from the presidency at all costs, but he is not a racist.

The only negative connatation that I can see coming from that statement is that by not referring to Barack Obama by name, he may have gently disrespected Obama. So, good for McCain. He has learned his lesson now. I think we can all rest easy and drop this subject. Those adament about pounding this into the heads of voters can do so much better. There are about a thousand things McCain really DID SAY and DID MEAN that are alot worse than "that one."

Get over it. Relax. We all know McCain is terrible. On the 4th, the truth will present itself...

$50 Bet...

I have a bet with one of my fraternity brothers who happens to be one of the biggest conservatives I know. He not only believes in the social and fiscal ideals of the Republican party, but chooses to believe blatant lies presented by the party, including those spewed by John McCain and Sarah Palin. The BET is simple...

If John McCain wins the election on November 4th, I will pay my friend $50 in American cash.
When Barack Obama wins the election on November 4th, he will pay me $50 in American cash.

When I win the $50, I am going to spend the money in the most liberal way possible. A good example might be to buy some crack, take it with me to a strip club, pay a lesbian to kiss a girl, put gas in my car and drive to a utilitarian church along with the lesbians, smoke the crack, rebel against the cause, and use the last few dollars to buy the morning after pill and give it to my now impregnated lesbian friends.

A new comedy film comes out tomorrow brought to us by the always hilarious and very articulate Bill Mahr. The film is titled "Religulous," and is a documentary which discusses and examines how plausible Christianity, Juadism, and Islam really are. If you don't know who Bill Mahr is and what he is all about, I can go ahead and tell you that the film is basically going to berate religion and tear those who believe in it up, which I am personally a big fan of.

Which has brought me on to this...

Organized religion is a bad thing. Sure, I'll agree it used to be a good thing. But nowadays, it is rare to see the peaceful side of God-loving people. By the general consensus, people of faith are considered peaceful, kind, loving, and supportive in all aspects of life. However, that is a fucking FRAUD.

Religion makes people dumb, ignorant, intolerant, self-absorbed, and helps them develop a Messiah Complex. The peace of religion no longer works in today's society. Instead, we get wars, chaos, destruction, and doom brought to us all in the name of God. We don't see the goodness that everyone says comes from worshipping a higher power. Sure, people will claim that they are good. Hell, in Kentucky, especially my hometown, if you go to church, people will say that you're an alright person. But every person I know that goes to church has more skeletons in their closet than anyone else.

Topic by topic, here's what religion does:

WAR: Wars are fought over fairy tales. Because a book says this land is ours, and another book says this land is theirs, you get thousands of people dying over a shitty, deserted piece of land. Does that make any sense?

INTOLERANCE: Let's face it. Most, if not all, people of faith are intolerant. It basically boils down to, using Christians and Muslims as an example, "Hi, I am a Christian and Jesus is my Savior."

"Oh, well, Hi, I am a Muslim and Muhommad is my savior so you are wrong.

"No, you are wrong."

"Okay, we can't meet on this. So, everybody else that does not worship my God dies."

And it's not just religion vs. religion. People of faith are so hurtful and so critical toward athiests in this country that it makes me sick. People tend to frown upon you if you admit your an athiest, and this fact has caused many to refuse to speak about the subject. Athiests fear of admitting their lack of faith and their own personal beliefs because they know they will be berated.

LIFESTYLE CHOICES: It should not matter in this country what the hell you want to do or how you want to live your life. Yet, people are tortured, killed, assaulted, or verbally abused by those of faith just because of their sexual preferences, group affiliations, etc. Hell, to the Church, if you're different, then you're evil.

POLITICS: Religion does not work in the United States anymore and people need to stop acting like it does. Why do Republicans even want the dumb, blind votes of crazy ass interolerant religious fucks anyway? The Religious Right? WTF? Our government should cater to everyone, not just a few, but religious organizations tend to believe that if the US does not make rules and regulations according to scripture, then it is all wrong. News for them: they need to stay home at the compound.

But we all know this. Now, name something good religion does? I really can't, and I know you probably can, but I bet I have a better rebuttle for it. Go ahead, try.

BTW...here are some of the things that wonderful religion has provided us:

-WESTBORO BAPTIST CHURCH: A religious group that protests soldiers' funerals, homosexual pride events, and even had the audacity to protest Heath Ledgar's funeral just because he starred in Brokeback Mountain. Yeah, that's the way!

-The Body of Christ: What started out as a group of people wanting to get together and worship the Lord, ended up being a fanatical cult responsible for the death of two small children! Alright Lord, thanks for the help!

-The Process Church of the Final Judgment: This, commonly known as the Process Church, was where Charles Manson got alot of his ideas. Hmmm...

I could go on and on, but I'll just stop. Religion is bad. Don't mention your faith to me and I won't mention my disdain for you.
